Under Good Smile Arts Shanghai’s Hyper Body line, the “Grid Tector Ver. Rikka Takarada” collaboration with the animated film Gridman Universe has officially been released! This is an original hypothetical fusion form that combines Rikka Takarada with Hyper Agent Gridman. Today, let’s take a closer hands-on look~

The figure stands approximately 15 cm tall. The design combines Rikka’s school uniform appearance from Gridman Universe with armor elements inspired by “Hyper Agent Gridman.” Additional outer armor has been added to the limbs, while the headset-like headpiece is derived from Gridman’s crest.
On the front of the left arm is the Axepter Junior used during transformation.
Overall, the paint detailing is among the better releases within the series. When unboxing, you may need to adjust the waist and hip ball joints yourself for proper balance.
It’s worth mentioning that this Rikka figure is roughly the same height as “THE GATTAI GRIDMAN.” However, it does not feature combination play with support mecha. That said, having Rikka stand on support machines is perfectly doable.
The exposed thighs beneath the ultra-short skirt, paired with the outer armor, create a striking “absolute territory” look. The thigh strap details also cleverly transition around the thigh swivel joint. A subtle glimpse of white undergarments is also part of Rikka’s charm.
In addition to the default expression, three extra faceplates are included: a shy face, a smiling side-glance face, and a shouting face. The default and shy expressions feel the most natural in terms of sculpting accuracy. Since Rikka serves more as a support character in the animation, the shouting face feels somewhat unfamiliar in comparison.
The Axepter Junior on the left arm includes three interchangeable effect parts, corresponding to the special moves “Grid Beam” and “Grid Light Saber Slash.”
Articulation, Equipment & Posing:
Although the legs feature a drop-down joint structure, the maximum side kick range is around 75 degrees. Forward kicks can reach about 90 degrees. The knees feature double-joint bending, and the ankles provide approximately 35 degrees of ground contact tilt.
The neck and waist both use ball joints, offering solid articulation range. The rear hair part can also be lifted upward for clearance.
The arms can raise horizontally, and the elbows bend to 90 degrees. Both the upper arms and elbows include swivel rotation. In addition to the default hands, three interchangeable hand types are included.
The only weapon included is “SAMURAI CALIBUR,” which features Rikka’s orange bird bracelet wrapped around it. The blade design is slightly slimmer than Gridman’s version and includes blue-green color separation details along the center.
The popularity of the Gridman Universe series seems to have entered a quieter period following the animated film release a few years ago. It inevitably brings back memories of the “thick thighs / slightly chubby goddess” trend sparked by Rikka Takarada at the time.
Perhaps it was Studio Trigger that elevated Rikka’s status in SSSS.GRIDMAN, and in turn, Rikka became one of the most iconic memories associated with the Gridman franchise. Combining the two naturally resulted in this “Grid Tector Ver. Rikka Takarada.”
Today, many Gridman spin-off collaborations center around heroines such as Rikka Takarada, Akane Shinjo, and Yume Minami, while “Hyper Agent Gridman,” once the core of the franchise, has gradually stepped back from the spotlight.
