The full name of the figure is A·DIMENSION Chainsaw Devil Denji 1/6 Scale Figure, and it recreates the scene featuring Denji and the “dismembered into pieces” Samurai Sword character.
Since the design essentially combines two 1/6 scale characters together, the overall figure reaches approximately 37.5 cm in height, even with the characters positioned in a crouching pose.
Putting TAKAYUKI TAKEYA aside for a moment, the design itself still has plenty of appeal. The dismembered Samurai Sword has been transformed into Denji’s base, while blood-splattered elements can be seen throughout the entire piece, creating a strong Chainsaw Man atmosphere.
Personally, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the figure itself. The violent aesthetic is fully realized.
There are also plenty of details visible from the back. For example, you can see the Samurai Sword’s body being pierced through by steel beams. Overall, the entire piece has a very strong Chainsaw Man original-art atmosphere.
However, personally speaking, this really isn’t quite the feeling I was expecting from a TAKAYUKI TAKEYA piece.
Simply put, the figure itself is genuinely good. But knowing that the prototype was designed by TAKAYUKI TAKEYA, I somehow feel that it’s missing something.
I’m not sure if that’s the best way to explain what I mean, but hopefully you understand what I’m getting at.
In fact, this is also where the biggest issue lies.
Because TAKAYUKI TAKEYA is involved in the project, this 1/6 scale Chainsaw Devil Denji figure, made from PVC and ABS.
The A·DIMENSION Chainsaw Devil Denji certainly isn’t a bad figure. In fact, the sculpt, blood effects, dynamic composition, and overall violent aesthetic capture the atmosphere of Chainsaw Man extremely well. The real question is whether the final product delivers the distinctive feeling collectors expect from a TAKAYUKI TAKEYA-designed piece. For collectors who absolutely love the design and TAKAYUKI TAKEYA’s work, it may still be worth considering, but for everyone else, the price definitely makes this a much harder figure to recommend.
