Xuenu is one of the most striking and graceful characters in The Legend of Qin. From being the most captivating dancer of Zhao to becoming a composed leader within the Mohist School, her life journey moves from the privileged Feixue Jade Blossom Stage into the turbulent struggle against a chaotic world.
Her story intertwines ultimate beauty with piercing sorrow. A single dance could calm unrest; a melody from her jade flute could express deep emotion. In troubled times, she holds firmly to her vows and feelings, shaping a legendary tale filled with both elegance and chivalrous spirit.

The nightly music and celebrations of Feixue Pavilion belonged to the noble class of Yan State. Being able to witness Xuenu’s dance there became a symbol of status and power. Seats for her performances had to be won through advance bidding, and even royalty could not always secure a place. The dance traditions of the Seven States all stemmed from Zhao’s style, and Xuenu stood at the very pinnacle of Zhao’s dancers. Even if all the dancers of Yan combined their skills, they could not match her alone.

Her movements were as light as falling snow, yet concealed hidden sharpness. She mastered the technique known as “Lingbo Flying Swallow,” a dance called the “Legend of the Yan Capital,” but also referred to as the “Dance of Death.” It was said she once swore never to perform it lightly, for breaking that vow would bring bloodshed. This oath hung above her like a blade, hinting at the undercurrents beneath her seemingly peaceful career.
When Lord Yan Chun of Yan State set his sights on her, danger quietly approached. This powerful noble praised her with the words, “Zhao’s dance surpasses all others; to witness it once is enough for a lifetime,” yet his tone was filled with possessiveness.
At that critical moment, the musician Gao Jianli stepped forward. Known across Yan for his qin artistry, he invoked the name of Crown Prince Dan to confront the powerful noble and secured a narrow chance of survival for Xuenu. Their bond began there, though it also brought deadly consequences.

Chased to the edge of a cliff, facing life and death, they finally spoke their true feelings. Gao Jianli vowed, “On the northern ridge there is a swallow, its feathers like snow,” and Xuenu answered, “The northern wind laments, together we fly south wing to wing.” That vow at the cliff became the starting point of their intertwined destinies.
After joining the Mohist School, Xuenu’s temperament subtly changed. The once distant dancer gradually revealed warmth and resilience beneath her calm exterior.

Within Mechanism City, she showed tenderness when protecting her companions and decisive coldness when facing enemies. When someone attempted to harm a Mohist member, she warned calmly: “If you plot with your left hand, I will cut off your left hand. If you plot with your right hand, I will cut off your right hand.” Such sharp resolve proved she was far more than a dancer upon a high stage.
Xuenu’s talents were not limited to dance. Her jade flute could perform the famous piece “White Snow,” a sorrowful melody said to move even the hardest hearts to tears. When she performed together with Gao Jianli, blending “Spring in the Sunny Land” with “White Snow,” it became the renowned masterpiece “Sunny Spring and White Snow.”

Unlike ordinary melodies, her “White Snow” also held unique power in battle. As the music played, snow seemed to fill the sky. Beneath its cold clarity lay hidden force. Unlike the bewitching control of fire charm techniques, the sound of “White Snow” awakened the spirit—yet could still wound invisibly.
Though she shared mutual feelings with Gao Jianli, Xuenu carried a barrier in her heart. Because of her past, she once vowed, “For the rest of my life, I will never marry again.” This oath often placed her in inner conflict when facing Gao Jianli’s sincere devotion.

Gao Jianli’s response was simple and firm: “I do not care for worldly ties. I only wish to walk with you until the end of life.” This love beyond worldly constraints became the most touching part of their relationship.

Xuenu’s beauty became one of the defining sights of The Legend of Qin. Even during the early days when animation technology was limited, the production team created an especially refined 3D model for her. Her pale blue dress stood uniquely among all characters. Even in lower resolution eras, her charm could not be hidden.
As time passed and characters changed, Xuenu appeared less frequently in later storylines, at times fading into the background. Yet the impression she left on audiences never disappeared. Even as newer versions adjusted her appearance, many still longed for the original Xuenu who danced upon the Feixue Jade Blossom Stage, remembering the spirit that transcended visual quality.

The lights of Feixue Pavilion may have dimmed, and the fires of Mechanism City may have quieted, but Xuenu’s story continues. From stage to battlefield, from solitary dancer to companion in struggle, when the melody of “White Snow” plays again, that snow-like figure still dances through time—interpreting perseverance and tenderness within chaos. Her legend lies not only in her beauty, but in the warmth of a heart that endured countless storms.
Seeing this surely brings back many fond memories of The Legend of Qin. Today we introduce the 20th Anniversary Special Edition — the 1/4 Scale Licensed Xuenu – The Legend of Qin Resin Statue – LingYun Studio, produced by Sparkly Key Animation Studio and manufactured by LingYun Studio.

The statue recreates Xuenu dancing at Feixue Pavilion. She stands gracefully upon a miniature scene base inspired by the pavilion setting. The composition balances movement and stillness, with her garments flowing gently and sculpted in smooth, cloud-like lines. The color scheme centers on icy white and pale blue, expressing a cool elegance that aligns perfectly with the “Flying Snow & Jade Blossom” theme.

Xuenu wears layered cross-collared robes. The outer translucent garment features large transparent sections, enhancing the lightness of her sleeves and perfectly capturing the motion of her dance. Fine embroidery decorates the cuffs and hem, while the waist ribbon flows softly behind her, adding further elegance.

LingYun Studio invested significant effort into detailing. The pink translucent ribbons feature small bells, while behind Xuenu stands a glass-like decorative structure combining a moon motif with miniature Mechanism City architecture. These elements enrich the overall presentation while staying true to her character.

The head sculpt closely recreates Xuenu’s refined animated appearance. Realistic glass eyes and implanted eyelashes give her gaze vitality. Skin paint application mimics natural texture, while shimmer decals enhance facial detail. Metallic-finished hair ornaments further elevate the overall refinement.
Overall, as an animation with many years of history, Xuenu’s statue release during the 20th anniversary feels driven more by sentiment than commercial consideration. The studio needed to preserve the original art style while meeting modern aesthetic expectations. The care shown in both overall design and detailed craftsmanship is evident. For longtime fans of The Legend of Qin, this 20th Anniversary Xuenu statue is undoubtedly worth collecting.
