Today we’re taking a look at the latest release from SSR-Figure — The Idolmaster: Shiny Colors × MahjongSoul collaboration figure: Toru Asakura “Relaxed Style Ver.” in 1/7 scale.
The figure is based on an illustration from the collaboration project between MahjongSoul and The Idolmaster: Shiny Colors, featuring Toru Asakura in her “Relaxed Style” outfit from the crossover design.
The Idolmaster: Shiny Colors is a spin-off anime from Bandai Namco’s long-running The Idolmaster franchise. Adapted from the web-based idol training game of the same name, the story focuses on rookie idols forming groups and pursuing their dreams while growing together.
And this time… we finally don’t have to censor anything, haha.
Even though I’m not very familiar with The Idolmaster or MahjongSoul, I do understand cute girls!
Toru Asakura sits lazily on an office chair, one shoe slipped off, holding a coffee cup and creating the relaxed atmosphere of a short break during office hours.
Her blue-and-white office-style outfit is paired with black stockings and high heels. The jacket is casually draped over her shoulders, and the loosened tie gives off a vibe that’s both relaxed and capable.
The stockings are incredibly well done. The semi-transparent matte paint recreates the light and delicate texture of real black stockings with impressive accuracy. Through the subtle finish, the contours of her leg muscles and joints can be faintly seen. The material treatment preserves the soft look of fabric while using lighting and shading to emphasize the delicate glow of skin underneath, avoiding the typical plastic-like appearance.
The next figure planned for this project is Madoka Higuchi. Nice, nice — hopefully SSR will open the door to a whole office-lady universe of figures!
